Creem Enjoyment has announced a raft of new hires, led by previous VICE publisher John Martin as CEO, the corporation tells Billboard. In addition, BMG Cypress Ascendant Holdings — a partnership among tunes manager Tautua Reed, previous songs government/agent Paul Coyne and financial commitment fund Cypress Ascendant led by businessman Monthly bill Trzos – have come on as traders in the venture.
In his new role, Martin will perform alongside Creem Amusement chairman JJ Kramer — son of Creem magazine’s co-founder and publisher Barry Kramer — as nicely as the magazine’s initial editor Jaan Uhelszki.

The new hires adhere to the 2020 documentary Creem: America’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll Magazine, which charts the background of the legendary magazine from its 1969 start through the dying of Barry Kramer in 1981.
“Creem was often the most iconic American brand name of my rock n roll infused reminiscences,” Martin said in a statement. “After viewing the documentary and conference JJ, I knew there was a huge opportunity to convey the enterprise back again for the contemporary period. In 2022 the pendulum is swinging and the vibe shift is serious: youthful men and women and new music fans of all ages want some cathartic launch, to chortle and have entertaining once again, and not just take them selves also seriously. Which is Creem, and that is rock n roll – a cruel temptress I found unattainable to resist.”
Creem Entertainment is described in a push release as “the modern day-day devil spawn of Detroit’s legendary CREEM Magazine” that claims to “deliver the best in editorial, unique programming, goods, membership goods, and experiences to rock ‘n’ roll supporters of all ages.”
Creem journal ended its operate in 1988 before returning briefly to print in the 1990s. Two other planned revivals, declared in 2003 and 2011, fizzled out owing to economic challenges and disputes above the company’s ownership.
