Puppet camps be part of lineup at YAC this summer months – The Oxford Eagle

The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council is excited to kick off our new summer season camps. Each summer, little ones from the Lafayette County local community invest their days finding out about arts and crafts, theatre, and so a lot extra.

Commencing June 6, Nancy Opalko, previous Oxford Librarian, is signing up for the Arts Council to host a wide variety of Puppet Camps. Fairytale puppet camp is scheduled for June 6th- 10th. Introduction to Shadow Puppetry will be the 7 days of July 18 – 22 from 8 a.m. – midday. The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council encourages learners to investigate their creativity in additional techniques than a single exterior of the regular brush and canvas. 

Nancy Opalko starts off just about every camp by introducing a new tale to the young children participating.
